The "B" Word

I guess this is my first official "blog". Whoo!!! Okay now that that's out of the way.

On semi-regular basis, I seem to come across women who call each other the "B" word. I wish someone could explain to me why this word is used as a term of endearment. I'm a firm believer that you teach people how to treat you. If you allow someone to call you a "B" or you call others that, what's gonna stop everyone else from treating you the same way.

I've heard the argument that most people use to defend the use of the "N' word as well (Nigga). "I changed the meaning of it....To use it means something different...Instead of something negative we're using it positively". The only problem with that statement arises when someone other than your friends use the word. Instantly the old meaning comes back and you become offended. I do understand that among friends the meaning can be changed and to you and friends, it's acceptable. The problem lies in the image that your giving off. From the outside looking in generally it doesn't look too well. And I know that to some image means nothing but honestly to get anywhere in this world you have to give off a certain image. Not saying we should conform, but you should be aware of the image you portray, because thats how you'll be treated.

But I'm interested in hearing what you have to say! Whats your opinion? Am I wrong or right? And why?
